“Far too often I hear people say that they can’t do scrappy because 1. It looks too messy or 2. They don’t have pretty scraps. In this lecture and trunk show I will show you all the pleasures of using your scraps. It starts with sorting and storing. Then we can discuss the difference between a scrap quilt and a scrappy one. That’s right, they are not the same.

Illustrated with my own scrap bins and a collection of both scrap and
scrappy quilts. Includes discussions on colour, value, and a little bit of quilt
history. Bad jokes always included.”

Thursday, Nov 26, 2020, Workshop, SCRAPTASTIC by Cheryl Arkison, ZOOM from your Home, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This workshop flows well from Cheryl’s Scrap vs Scrappy trunk show and lecture! Who doesn’t have scraps they don’t know what to do with? Don’t throw away your little scraps! Those bits and pieces have excellent potential, this class will show you how to use every last scrap.

Each student will work on a unique quilt, coming away with a new appreciation for their scraps.

Cheryl will cover sorting, storing and using your scraps. You’ll leave her workshop with your scraps all sorted, great ideas for storing and organizing your scraps plus you’ll have a good start on a scrappy quilt top. This is all about learning to love your scraps, down to every last bit.

Learn to see your scraps as an inspiring sight, not a burden or mess.
