Sept – Dec Meeting Review

Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 pm – A great turnout for our first meeting of 2013/14 with 113 members and 7 guests present.  Show and tell produced 12 very talented people presenting 24 finished projects to view.   A fabulous trunk show on “Let’s talk Modern”  was presented by  Michele-Renee (M-R) Charbonneau of the Modern Quilt Guild who has been exploring modern quilting over the last couple of years and loves it.  She shared her passion for the style, her insights on what makes a quilt “modern” and how you can make your quilts more modern, if you would like to give this style a try,  She also brought her modern quilts to share.  We certainly appreciated her coming to share her work

Tuesday, October 22 at 7pm – Martha Schellingerhoud, the “Quilting in Sections” specialist presented a fantastic trunk show for us.

The thing that blew us all away is that she makes a Miniature quilt of some of her larger ones.  Unbelievable amount of pieces and work involved.

This Quilt is called:  “Stars All Around“.  It is Pieced and Quilted by Martha Schellingerhoud.  The inspiration for the quilt came from Judy Mathieson.

Tuesday, November 26 at 7pm – Pat Lemaire, art quilter and fibre artist gave “My Journey on the Quilting Highway” Trunk Show.  Pat describes herself as a mom and avid quilter with a serious fabric addiction.  She showed her work from her first sampler quilt to her progression through many other pieces.  We loved her presentation.

Tuesday, December 4 – QT Luncheon at Civitan Hall from 10am – 2:30pm.  Bring your handwork to work on.
